The Tangent Table for dk3 by Danish architect and designer Anne Boysen balances form, function, and craftsmanship in a design that feels both modern and timeless. It is available in rectangular and round versions, each defined by a distinctive base and asymmetrical tabletop.
The form is built from continuous tangential arcs, creating a sculptural whole with subtle asymmetry. The tabletop uses wide solid wood slats running lengthwise, giving a calm, refined expression, while the softly curved edge adds a light, almost floating feel.
The base combines two contrasting solid wood elements: a gently curved disc and a monolithic volume, both softly rounded at the foot. Together they create a shifting visual tension depending on the viewing angle, like a sculpture.
The rectangular version can be extended with leaves at each end, adding three seats while maintaining a seamless expression. Available in six sizes, the design emphasizes material precision and invites close exploration of its curves, surfaces, and proportions.
