The PAN series is a beautiful example of Bent Karlby’s unique talent for capturing the spirit of an area and turning it into designs that would come to transcend their inspiration. During the 1970s, when Pop Art was trending, the early PAN lamps would have coloured insides. Today, the fixtures have monochrome surfaces of anodized aluminium, transforming them into contemporary design pieces suitable for modern living.
The open tubular design of the PAN pendant allows for diffused light to beautifully illuminate the aluminium pendant while completely hiding the light source. The direct downlight provides functional illumination, whereas the upward lighting is subtle and decorative.
