A childhood love of drawing led Susan to study at Edinburgh College of Art between 1998 - 2003, completing a degree and post-grad diploma in the School of Design and Applied Arts. Susan specialised in jewellery and silversmithing, and worked for many years as a self-employed jeweller, supplying independent craft shops and design galleries across the UK. However, after a career break to raise her son, she returned to her first love - painting. A fascination with objects (and a growing collection of ceramics!) has led her to focus on still life, mainly creating small, affordable, original artworks that are accessible to all. Susan lives and works in Edinburgh, fitting painting around family life.
